About Save Our Scouts

Save Our Scouts (SOS) is a national organization formed on September 1, 2000 by experienced Scouters who are appalled at the attacks on the Boy Scouts in recent months. Our goal is to support and defend the principles of the Scout Oath and Law which have taught generations of boys the importance of becoming men who love their country, do their duty to God and live morally straight lives of service to their families and communities. Save Our Scouts is not affilated with, approved or sponsored by the Boy Scouts of America.

At a time when values are under siege, SOS holds that it is more important than ever that the Boy Scouts live by these principles and resist efforts to lower their standards because of financial threats of a few contributors or intimidation from extreme pressure groups.

Our goal is to proclaim the timelessness of the scout principles and provide an opportunity for those who support those principles to effectively defend and support them.

We do this by providing a national rallying point for individuals across the nation to show their personal support of the Scouts by signing the petition on this site. We also seek to inform and educate the public on the threats to scouting. We will stem the tide of attacks and bring to light the local efforts to limit the rights of the Boy Scouts.
